While the biggest day of the week for online tournament poker players is on Sunday, some poker players may choose to skip the high stakes Sunday tournaments. Players may choose to grind out the weekday tournaments instead. It can be shocking how different a tournament can be on a weekday when compared to a tournament on a Sunday. The thing about weekday tournaments is that mostly full time poker players will be playing in these tournaments, if they are big enough. Other weekday tournaments will just have recreational players who want to have fun during there day off or after work.

Knowing which tournaments to play is very important, as an intermediate player does not want to choose a tournament like the $100 rebuy. Here are some of the biggest weekday tournaments (excluding weekday majors like the $1k Monday, Super Tuesday and Wednesday Quarter Million). All of the following tournaments take place every weekday on Full Tilt or Poker Stars:

$100 1r+1a

This poker star tournament, which is on Full Tilt Poker, usually has a field of just under 200 players, but beware – the field is EXTREMELY strong. Only extremely gifted players play in this tournament.

$100 Rebuy

This is like the $100 1r+1a on Full Tilt, except this takes place on Poker Stars. This pricey rebuy features an extremely tough field, with about 300 rebuy specialists playing everyday.

$50k Guaranteed

This FullTilt tournament has a buy in of $150+13 and usually has about 500 players. Believe it or not, despite the big buy in, the field is usually intermediate at best. This tournament usually has a lot of value in it and is a great opportunity for non-expert players to hit a big score.

$75K Guarantee

This tournament on pokerstar occurs later in the day and has a $150+13 buy in. Although the $50k guarantee with the same buy in has a relatively weak field, this tournament is much more difficult. Intermediate player should stay away from this tournament. The field averages about 600 players.

$80k Guarantee

This Poker Stars tournament may have the most value of any weekday tournament. The buy in is only $50+5 and their fields are very weak. Even beginner players can make deep runs in this one. The field has about 1500 players nightly.

50-50

The $50k guarantee with a $50+5 buy in at Full Tilt is another very easy tournament where even the most inexperienced tournament players can try for a big score. The field is about 100 strong every night and features some soft play.

Nightly Hundred Grand

This might be the most popular weekday tournament. Located on PokerStars every night, this tournament has a $150+12 buy in. Despite the pricey buy in, fields are not as strong as players may think. The tournament field has about 1000 players and has a very big first place prize. If players can afford the buy in, they should give this one a shot.
